About Craig S. Hanson, CPA

For 29 years, Craig and his team at Craig Hanson, CPA, have been providing tax, accounting, and management consulting services to individuals, businesses, and nonprofits in North Dakota. Not only has Craig returned clients’ email within 24 hours (for the last 10 years); he also personally signs off on every return his office prepares to ensure that clients’ tax liabilities are the lowest legally allowed by law.
Craig is dedicated to helping his clients achieve success, whether working on their individual, partnership, estate, corporate, or fiduciary tax returns, performing management advisory services, preparing financial statements, handling a complicated payroll deduction, or helping them with a QuickBooks question. As a small business owner himself, who makes payroll every other Friday, he understands the needs and challenges of small businesses first hand.
Craig is active in his community. He taught Accounting as an Adjunct Professor at Valley City State University and teaches QuickBooks classes for clients. He serves as Treasurer of the Nebraska/North Dakota/South Dakota Chapter of the National Association of Tax Professionals, is Past Chair of a Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce committee, and is Treasurer of the Jamestown Community Corrections Advisory Board. He is also member of numerous accounting organizations including the American Institute of CPAs, National Society of Accountants, North Dakota Society of Accountants, National Association of Tax Professionals, and the Farm Business Management Advisory Committee.
Prior to starting his own firm, Craig was a tax specialist in the agriculture industry. He has also performed audits of governmental units, non-profits, and businesses. The American Institute of CPAs selected him as a focus group participant for peer analysis in 1999.
A CPA, Craig earned a BS in Accounting and a Master's degree in Business at the University of Mary, Bismarck, ND. He is also a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
